ABOUT:
This training is designed for youth serving professionals (but open to all) who have already initiated efforts to create safer and more affirming systems of care for LGBTQ+ youth and engaged youth in talking about sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression (SOGIE). Before registering for this training, participants should take LGBTQ+ 101 Training in the eQ Series (or a similar training) and engage in a LGBTQ+ youth centered effort in their respective court, agency, or organization for at least three months.
Participants will:
- Revisit the purpose and principles that underlie their efforts;
- Improve their skills through practice and sharing lessons learned;
- Learn how to address mistakes;
- Learn and develop strategies to overcome challenges related to sustaining safer and more affirming systems of care for LGBTQ+ youth and talking to youth about their SOGIE; and
- Develop next steps for improving their efforts.
This training is interactive, and participants should expect to engage in large and small groups to have the best learning experience.
